Official rules for the Robotics Coding Challenge 2025. Please read carefully before participating.
2025 Competition
General Rules
- The competition is open to students enrolled in Australian schools from Kindergarten to Year 12.
- All entries must be submitted by the participant themselves. Teachers may provide guidance but not complete the work.
- Each student may enter only one track per year.
- The 2025 theme is Natural Disasters. Projects must clearly relate to this theme.
- All entries must be submitted before November 30, 2025, 11:59 PM AEDT.
- Late entries will not be accepted under any circumstances.
Track Requirements
By Track
🖥️ Scratch Coding (K–4)
- Use Scratch 3.0 or above
- Minimum 5 sprites or scenes
- Project must be interactive or animated
🤖 Python Robotics (5–8)
- Written in Python 3.x
- Must demonstrate control logic (loops, conditions, functions)
- Physical robot or simulation accepted
🧠 AI & Innovation (9–12)
- Must incorporate AI/ML concepts
- Documentation required explaining approach and methodology
- Originality and real-world application scored highly
Judging Criteria
How Entries Are Judged
- Relevance to Theme (25%) — How well the project addresses Natural Disasters
- Technical Skill (30%) — Quality and complexity of code/robotics
- Creativity & Innovation (25%) — Original approach and ideas
- Presentation (20%) — Clarity of video and documentation
Judges’ decisions are final. Results will be announced on December 15, 2025.
Disqualification
Grounds for Disqualification
- Plagiarism or submitting another person’s work
- Use of inappropriate or offensive content
- Attempting to game the judging process
- Providing false information during registration
